General Demolition demonstrated the sensitive side of demolition works at The Headland Hotel in Newquay, Cornwall, one of the pre-eminent hotels in the South West of England.

The contract involved the precise demolition of a series of old building extensions to make way for a new kitchen, store rooms and a staff canteen. Extreme care was taken not to damage the terracotta fascia of the hotel building.

The work was completed ahead of schedule for Cornwall-based contractor, Talling Construction.

The Grade II listed Headland Hotel, which is famous as the film location for Roald Dahl's ‘The Witches’, is surrounded on three sides by coastal views and is designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).
